Lafarge jordan cement signs agreement with fuheis municipality

 

Under the patronage of Balqa Governor H.E. Fawaz Irsheidat, Lafarge Jordan Cement renewed its partnership agreement with Fuheis municipality on 30th January 2012. By virtue of the agreement, Lafarge Jordan Cement will extend its support to the municipality by paving and maintaining roads and improving the standards of public facilities and services provided in Fuheis. It also aims to aid the municipality in establishing projects that cater to the needs of Fuheis' local community and create jobs.

 

The new partnership was signed in Balqa by Lafarge Jordan Cement CEO Toufic Ahmed Tabbara and Fuheis Mayor Baker Ahmad Rahamna.

 

"We are pleased to renew this ongoing partnership with Fuheis municipality which was initially established in 2004. We are confident that we will continue to implement projects that benefit the local community. This agreement will be the beginning of a new phase that is based on open communication and the utmost transparency regarding all Fuheis-related issues. Our decision to renew this partnership stems from our firm belief in the important role Lafarge Jordan Cement plays in supporting development and positively impacting the lives of Fuheis residents," commented Tabbara.     

 

In turn, Rahamna stated, "This partnership will allow us to better serve the local community by bolstering the level of services we provide them with and by further implementing development projects. In this context, and in collaboration with Lafarge Jordan Cement, we are in the process of establishing a handicrafts zone valued at JD 150,000 that will offer training and create job opportunities for Fuheis' youth."

 

Also commenting on the occasion, H.E. Irsheidat said, "We are impressed by Lafarge Jordan Cement's understanding of the Fuheis community's needs and its genuine interest in efficiently catering to them. Lafarge Jordan Cement has proven itself to be a socially responsible company that is deeply invested in the communities it works with."
