In line with its contribution to supporting the local community, Lafarge Jordan Cement has forged many strategic partnerships with NGOs and local agencies to sustain the company's development work, utilizing the technical expertise of these consultant organizations.

The main strategic partnerships are:

Partnership with INJAZ

In a 2005 strategic partnership with INJAZ, Lafarge Jordan Cement supports the Jordanian non-profit organization in providing youth with economically sustainable jobs. INJAZ is an entity that works towards instilling economically and socially viable concepts to the Kingdom's public school students. As part of Lafarge Jordan’s leadership role in Health & Safety in Jordan, an MOU was signed with Injaz Company to introduce educational awareness sessions in public and private schools. The main objective is to spread and raise awareness amongst youth in Jordan on Health & Safety. This Awareness campaign will be delivered by our volunteers through conducting one hour session in different schools using a booklet that is developed by Lafarge Jordan. This booklet consists of advices and instructions about safety at home, outdoors, at school bus and at school in addition to advices on health.

Partnership with The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN)

Partnership with The RSCN

Lafarge Jordan Cement partnered with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) - an independent non-profit non-government organization - with the aim of conserving biodiversity and protecting the environment in Jordan and neighboring Arab countries in line with local and regional socioeconomic development programs. Through this partnership, Lafarge Jordan Cement strives to encourage community involvement in raising public awareness on environmental issues and preserving biodiversity.

 

As part of this partnership, Lafarge Jordan Cement will support Dana Biosphere Reserve's goal of raising environmental awareness among local area residents by developing communication and education programs.

LafargeHolcim Jordan Signs MOU with A/E Business Council

LafargeHolcim Jordan signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the A/E Business Council to initiate a strategic partnership with the council, which counts among its member a number of consulting architectural and engineering companies and offices. The MOU, which is aimed at keeping the council members abreast of Lafarge Holcim's latest achievements in the field of construction materials and better building solutions and techniques, will also showcase the company’s new and innovative solutions to fulfill client needs and address the challenges posed by such needs.the A/E Business Council was established at the end of 2004 as a non-governmental and not-for-profit association to serve its members, who comprise architectural and engineering consulting companies in Jordan, and to cooperate with partners in order to raise the competitive level of the consulting engineering sector.

Cooperation Agreement with "Falak Tayeb"

Lafarge Jordan signed a cooperation agreement with Falak Tayeb to set up a training center to qualify job seekers and increase their skills, in Tafileh, to improving the living conditions of the surrounding local society and reducing unemployment. According to the agreement, "Falak Tayeb" will provide job and training services and help job seekers in Tafileh, to obtain jobs that are commensurate with their scientific, personal and practical qualifications through the Falak Tayeb Training and Career Guidance Center.
