Toufic Tabbara Appointed as New CEO for Lafarge Jordan

 

Lafarge Group announced the appointment of Toufic Ahmed Tabbara as CEO for Lafarge Jordan, both Cement and Concrete.  Tabbara will take on his new position in February 2012, after having assumed a number of positions across Lafarge Group in several countries.

 

This step emphasizes and corresponds with Lafarge Group's new development phase across all its units worldwide, which focuses on bolstering work efficiency and better catering to clients' needs. It also falls under the Company's goal to promote innovation and accelerate local development.

I am very eager to support the Company in leveraging all of our expertise towards the development of the Jordanian construction sector," commented Tabbara.

 

Tabbara began his career as a Financial Analyst with the Republic National Bank of New York in London. In 1998, Tabarra joined Lafarge as Manager of Strategy and Development of the Gypsum Activity in Reston, Virginia in the United States of America. He then went on to assume a number of managerial posts within the Lafarge Group in the U.S., Canada and Egypt.  Tabbara holds a BA in Business Administration from the American University of Beirut and an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management, Thunderbird in the United States of America.
