Since 1961, Lafarge has actively encouraged employees to hold shares. The intention is for employees to participate in the Group's economic performance.

The Group launched its latest employee shareholder plan in 2009. At the end of 2009, 55,000 of the Group's 76,000 employees were employee shareholders.

The Group renews this kind of operation every 2 to 3 years in order to increase the number of employee shareholders.
